While we can all appreciate a sappy love story or two, there is something special about a classic buddy flick. We thought we would explore the underrepresented on-screen relationship – friendship. From Bridesmaids to Badboys, these films depict the true ebb and flow that is amity. Here are 5 movies that teach us that love stories come in many forms:

Bad boys

The classic buddy cop combo of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) shows audiences that what we have in common is greater than our differences.  While the same message can be said for all three installments of the bad boy’s trilogy we have a soft spot for the 1995 original.

Frozen

Anna ( Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) defy the Disney framework by putting the value of sisterhood and friendship ahead of all else.

Bridesmaids

What do we do when our best friends get married and leave us behind? Bridesmaids guides us through the cautionary tale that is Annie’s life (Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph).

I Love You, Man

It’s never too late to meet out best friend. Watch as Peter (Paul Rudd) and Sydney (Jason Siegel) navigate the world of adult friendship.

Superbad

Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera)  enjoy their last few days as highschool students before heading off to separate colleges. The two best friends set off on a last-ditch effort to lose their virginity before reaching manhood.
